THE MURCHISONS

Story

The journey began in 1984 when Founder, James Murchison created the Partnership Kindred Murchison after leaving KPMG. His experience taught him that accounting services could only offer so much. For businesses to truly thrive they need a trusted Business Advisor that could understand the strategic direction of the business and model its growth and key objectives.

1994 The winds of change offered James the opportunity to action his passion for growing businesses as he dissolved the Partnership, creating the boutique advisory firm Murchisons that still exists today.
2005 Murchisons has continually adopted this culture of change in its own growth. In 2005 Murchisons moved to the North Sydney premises, reflecting the company’s expanded offerings beyond those of a typical suburban accounting practice.
2009 In 2009 Roger Mortimer joined the practice as Principal. Roger brought along with him over 30 years of SME experience and a mind for practicality, making him the perfect leader for Murchisons taxation, accounting and superannuation services.
2015 Good fortune struck the firm again in 2015 with Luke Mitchell joining as Director. Luke’s passion of developing close business relationships to provide clients with the best advice fit perfectly with Murchisons core beliefs.
2020 – Full Steam Ahead Navigating the complex waters of 2020, we paved the way for a new wave of talent within the core team with the promotion of Steve Vigolo and Sam Stringer stepping up to become Directors. This increased capacity welcomed James Murchison, Roger Mortimer, and Luke Mitchell to become our Principal Directors. Not stopping there, we stayed one step ahead of the curve by ensuring our technical side of accounting was covered, transitioning Dominic Wong into Technical Director.
2020 – A year of Growth and Development Murchisons reached a major milestone in 2020 with our debut on the list of Australian Financial Review (AFR)’s Top 100 Accounting Firms. We’d like to thank our clients and staff for their tremendous support and ongoing referrals in helping us reach this significant achievement.
TODAY Murchisons continues to grow while maintaining a foundation of quality accounting services to support an array of organisations and individuals.
