Manager

Primary Function/General Purpose

Responsible for the reliable production of financial and advisory services in a timely manner. In doing so they must manage workflow, build/develop their team and support the Director in developing and strengthening client relationships.


Key Tasks and
Responsibilities

  • Delegate the preparation of financial statements including monthly, quarterly and annual BAS’s and income tax returns and where necessary assist with completion of more complex projects

  • Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities

  • Provide matters for consideration for review by Directors

  • Research taxation matters and communicate findings with Directors

  • Writing technical tax advice and management reports for clients

  • Deliver advisory based services to clients

  • Prepare fee agreements for projects for approval by Director, before commencement of the work

  • Manage WIP, including invoicing in accordance with agreed fee arrangements

  • Manage client lodgement list

  • Identify potential areas of compliance risk and develop/implement corrective actions


Experience, Skills and Qualifications

  • Minimum 6 years’ experience in Australian Public Practice is preferred, demonstrated equivalent commercial experience may be considered. 

  • CA/CPA qualified

  • Bachelor Degree in a relevant subject

  • Advanced knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles

  • Advanced knowledge of applicable business and tax laws, codes and regulations

  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching experience

  • Ability to analyse, interpret, reconcile and communicate financial information

  • Ability to plan and coordinate activities, prioritise, monitor and evaluate workflows and continually assess and improve effectiveness of financial processes


Decision Making and
Delegating Authority

  • Managers are encouraged to work autonomously within the scope of their role and make decisions to complete work on a reliable basis. Key issues and decisions need to be included for review as Matters for Consideration including suggested options for discussion with clients

  • Direct client contact and general advice is expected. All other advice must be approved by a Director


Reporting to

  • Manager reports directly to Directors
